A gentle way in to public speaking training
For some people, working with a group on public speaking doesn’t feel appropriate. It may feel too daunting, or perhaps you just want to take things one step at a time. Individual coaching allows us to explore the speaking landscape at a pace suited to your personal needs and interests.
A safe space to explore
There may be underlying issues you feel are holding you back. Many of us have had challenging experiences in the past – perhaps the way we experienced communication growing up, or maybe a particular presentation that didn’t go as well as we’d have liked. It can sometimes be helpful to explore what’s happened and look at new ways to move forward.
Developing specific skills
Some habits are hard to break, and some skills need time and practice to become like second nature. In 1-1 coaching we can work on specific skills like speaking loud enough, learning to pause and breathe, eliminating ‘ums’ and ‘ers’, identifying a key message, answering questions, etc.
Preparing for a speaking event
Weddings, TED talks, key-note presentations, pitching for investment … If you’ve got an important event coming up, practice is essential – and getting feedback on your rehearsals can really help strengthen your delivery. You can also try out new ways of doing things, be filmed to see more objectively how you’re coming across, and get so familiar with your material that you can relax and really enjoy giving your talk on the day.
If you are considering individual coaching, just get in touch. I offer free 15 minute phone consultations where we can discuss if and how coaching can support you.
WHAT PEOPLE ARE SAYING

"I wanted to discover how to become a more authentic public speaking presence on stage and after 2 days I left feeling that presence when walking down the street, at work, at home and on a stage. Millie is a gifted facilitator and creates a great environment to learn and explore, with some challenging and enjoyable exercises that helped me to learn through being more attuned my experiences. I highly recommend The Speaking Adventure for anyone who aspires to being their true authentic self while being in front of an audience."
